چکیده

This paper presents a comparative study on the use of noreference quality metrics for eye fundus imaging. We center on autofocusing and quality assessment as key applications for the correct operation of a fundus imaging system. Four state-of-the-art no-reference metrics were selected for the study. From these, a metric based of Rényi anisotropy yielded the best performance in both auto-focusing and quality assessment.

Video quality assessment using visual attention computational models

A recent development in the area of image and video quality consists of trying to incorporate aspects of visual attention in the design of visual quality metrics, mostly using the assumption that visual distortions appearing in less salient areas might be less visible and, therefore, less annoying. This research area is still in its infancy and results obtained by different groups are not yet c...

Interoperative fundus image and report sharing in compliance with integrating the healthcare enterprise conformance and web access to digital imaging and communication in medicine persistent object protocol.

AIM To address issues in interoperability between different fundus image systems, we proposed a web eye-picture archiving and communication system (PACS) framework in conformance with digital imaging and communication in medicine (DICOM) and health level 7 (HL7) protocol to realize fundus images and reports sharing and communication through internet. METHODS Firstly, a telemedicine-based eye ...

Effects of Intraframe Distortion on Measures of Cone Mosaic Geometry from Adaptive Optics Scanning Light Ophthalmoscopy.

PURPOSE To characterize the effects of intraframe distortion due to involuntary eye motion on measures of cone mosaic geometry derived from adaptive optics scanning light ophthalmoscope (AOSLO) images. METHODS We acquired AOSLO image sequences from 20 subjects at 1.0, 2.0, and 5.0° temporal from fixation. An expert grader manually selected 10 minimally distorted reference frames from each 150...

Multi-frame Super-resolution with Quality Self-assessment for Retinal Fundus Videos

This paper proposes a novel super-resolution framework to reconstruct high-resolution fundus images from multiple low-resolution video frames in retinal fundus imaging. Natural eye movements during an examination are used as a cue for super-resolution in a robust maximum a-posteriori scheme. In order to compensate heterogeneous illumination on the fundus, we integrate retrospective illumination...
